Copying CD's to SD card

Featured Replies

Picked up my new L&K diesel DSG this morning. Delighted! even managed to put a postcode in the SatNav. I am behind my children with a skoda. Son in Swansea has Yeti and Fabia VRS and daughter has Octavia. My only problem so far is trying to copy CDs to Sd card for playback in the Yeti. A lot of the tracks seem to be copy protected and won't play even though they have been copied to the card Ok. Does anybody have a tip on this?

Many thanks VAGCF.

I have copied my CDs to my PC as .WMA at 192kbps and just dragged them to the SD card, they all show album art correctly. I have close to 100 albums on a 16gb card and have never had a copy protection problem.

Your PC is not an Apple is it?

It's your esteemed advice that's in that link.

I had problems with some of my albums when using MP3 (breaking up and distortion) but re-copied them using the recommended Windows Media Player and .WMA (using Variable Bit Rate - VBR at the highest setting) and they play fine.

Unless Citigopher comes up with something better this seems to be the quickest and easiest to get good sound quality.

That's good to know cos I can work it but I got the impression it was being phased out to be replaced by OneDrive.

What's OneDrive for then?.......(satnavs?)

One Drive is the name of Microsoft's cloud storage service. Amazon calls theirs Cloud Drive, Google calls theirs Google Drive. And Apple calls theirs iCloud. Has nothing to do with driving cars :). And more to do with being a "cloud" hard drive.

Melbourne eh, we should meet some time.

So does it mean it won't replace Media Player?.
