New car handover tomorrow pm

Featured Replies

A bit late today I know but The Day has (almost) arrived.
In case normal patience and common sense are swept away by the waves of euphoria, what would be the esteemed Briskoda members' TOP 5 things to be explained/demonstrated in detail before driving out of the showroom?

I don't want to accept the salesman's comment of 'it's in the manual' if in fact the manual is perhaps lacking in some areas.

(I do readily acknowledge that answers to any subsequent queries can be found within the forum - and also on 'the YOC side' - but I feel that the dealership should do a bit of 1:1 work in exchange for my cash)

Voices of experience?

Err... possibly how to fold the back seats properly and how you have to speak backwards to get the phonebook to work (unless that's fixed now).

Can't think of anything else, the Yeti just does what it's supposed to.

They should go through the whole vehicle and demonstrate all its features. If you play dumb, they might.

Otherwise they just do the bare minimum.

If they don't offer, ask them to show you how to remove the back seats and actually do it. Hilarious

Agree you should make the dealer work for their money, but half the time they have little more idea than yourself and half the fun is discovery, spend the time wisely checking the spec is correct and also there is no damage or blemishes to paint work or insides of the car.

:D  Especially the middle one!

Otherwise as you say use the forum as regards the Adblue and getting music and album art sorted.

Enjoy it!

You lucky new Yeti owner!  I am hoping our 1.4 TSI L&K will be here next week.  I would suggest the following ideas:

1. Smartlink & Smartgate (sounds like a corruption scandal)
2. The clever bi-xenon lights, especially what they do on "auto"
3. Full check of all body panels
4. How to use the new Amundsen+ satnav - particularly entering a post code
5. Have their ideas/instructions on running-in changed?

Good luck with the baby.  I hope it brings you many years of pleasure.

Spoilsport - some of us had to read the manual you know!

Re. running in, particularly with the diesel, just drive it normally and avoid lugging and high revs - that's how I drive all the time!

With modern oils giving it the beans to bed the rings in makes very little, if any difference. May do more with the petrol engines but again the oil is too good really.

Make your own list of questions.
