2007 vRS petrol tyre choice

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm just getting to know my first vRS and I've found a nick in a couple of tyres. Obviously, they're one on each axle so I need to have a clean slate and change all four corners.

I've got the 17" wheels and I'm thinking of getting the Continental SportContact 5 from Black Circles all round following a friend's recommendation.

If I'm going with these tyres, which of the two choices would I be best off with? Does the higher load rating bring any advantages or disadvantages?

  • 225/45 R17 Y (91)
    • Fuel rating C
    • Wet rating B
    • Noise 71dB
    • £81 a corner fitted
  • 225/45 R17 Y (94)
    • Fuel rating E
    • Wet rating A
    • Noise 72dB
    • £87.50 a corner fitted

Thanks,

Paul.

Personally I found the Octy a noisy bugger so I always went with quiet tyres. Last set I had on were GY Efficient Grip Performance. I thought they were very good.
