I have a 2010 octavia VRS diesel..

I have started to get a horrible dronning noise only above 80mph as soon as you drop below it goes away... it's almost as if you have one back window open and you get that horrible dronning wind noise... only above 80mph and above.. checked all tyre seem good no under tray loose really is annoying and also no wheel wobble

Really puzzled

Could be the wheel bearings are on the way out??

Well I didn't think that but surely would be all the time rather than just over 80mph

Could you say where is the sound coming from? Front/Rear? Left/Right? Engine/Wheel? Is there any wobbling in steering wheel or car itself?

And a wheel bearing could be the case. I've had one earlier with similar problem but can't know for sure until I've heard it.

Well I can say it's definitely coming from the rear of the car... there is no wheel wobaling or vibration through the car

Could be the seal around the glass of the small triangular window at the back edge of the rear doors. Get someone in the back while you drive along to listen around and stick their hands over seals etc to isolate the spot.

If it is, you could possibly run a tiny amount of clear sealant over it, if you don't fancy having the glass out and getting a new seal.

OK might have to try that get the wife do drive it and see if I could find anything... couple of people have mentioned the seal could be buggered

Sorry but I have to ask; why would it bother you when the national speed limit for a motorway is 70 ?
