PCV relaced, chances that DV needs replacing too?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I replaced the PCV on my 2.0 tfsi today and was concerned how bad it actually was, you could literally breathe through it...not good for a one way valve.

So that's replaced and the car feels much better but I'm concerned, if the PCV was in that bad of condition is it likely the DV needs doing too?

Thanks.

also one other thing playing on my mind, most likely getting paranoid

how loud should the turbo be? I know that the DV is on the drivers side and i swear i can hear the turbo more from the drivers side than the passenger side where the air intake is, also i have a ram air panel filter too causing a bit of turbo noise so its hard to tell

What is the noise? I can hear a spool whine on mine, but I have no idea if it's normal.  I can also hear my gearbox whining quite a bit around 2500-3000 rpm. Again, no idea if it's normal...

It's not a bad noise, just sounds like a hella lot of air being taken in, again I've only had the car less than 2 months and remapped for 1 month so I'm uncertain if this is normal
