Look good, is the first shot a comparision between std on the left and HID on the right?

Where did you get them and how much did they set you back? Was it a difficult install?

yeah the first pic is the difference. I got a few imported from Korea. Only took a couple of hours install, hardest part is finding somewhrre put the ballest boxes and ignitor boxes

Looks good! If you're ever coming through Macclesfield, drop us a PM beforehand - I'd like to see what they look like in real life. I'm considering a pair, apart from anything else, I do about 100 miles commuting a day, which at this time of the year is about an hour each way on dark lanes . . . . brighter headlights would be welcome!

how slow is a 1.4 mpi?

compared to what?

Its fast enough, bit underpowered maybe for the weight of the car, just an older engine design. fast enough if your not racing!

Check these guys out: http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk for a cheaper' date=' easier to install alternative, if you just want brighter lights. I went for these babies [url']http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/default.asp?prodtype.asp?PT_ID=92&numRecordPosition=1&strPageHistory=cat&strKeywords=&strSearchCriteria=[/url] Now the dipped beam is basically as bright as the old main beam! Hardly use Main beam on country roads any more.

HAHAHHA, them 1's u went for, is what i was comparing them too in the first pic  nice try

and about the 1.4, who cares, its practical, i'd prefer spend my money on other things

Be interested to know if you have any problems with aligning the beam pattern and does it have sharp upper cut off lines ?

Do you know the make of the ballasts and what sort of cost ??

the beam pattern is fine, same sharpness cut off lines as normal bulbs, they are KDG kits http://www.kdgeng.com/

I have a couple of H7 6500k kits left, im asking for about £180 a kit, ive been assured that these are decent kits, fully waterproof, no probs up to now :)

Hi,

Can you fit these to dip and main lights and where would buy them from?

Paul

ive got mine on dip which is H7, main is H3, my friend fitted a main beam one to a passat and it was a bit funny, not sure why. he's going to try fit them with a relay see if that fixes it.

i bought some 100watt H3 main beam bulbs and there still not the same brightness as my dipped beam, i dont bother using main beam now

Does it make you look like a **** when your following people? you say "100watt H3 main beam bulbs and there still not the same brightness as my dipped beam" thats not good. We've had a fair bit of moaning about Rangrover drivers with their ultra bright lights, its just dangerous dont you think?

  • Author

not really, as the main beam points higher than the low beam. must admit it would give a glare when i come over a hill or speedbump but dont all cars do that.

ive put the manual beam on 1 inside the car just incase but the beam is no higher than a normal bulb, just dont look into them or drive a elise, lol

I have lights like that in my car. They're called STC from Canada. Much brighter than standard, especially the high beam. Pure Xenon white :) I'll stick some pics up when I can :)
