Dispensing Chemicals from 5L Containers

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any recommendations please for pouring the chemicals from the plastic 5l containers without them spilling down the sides. I had thought about the screw on pump dispensers but wondered if they are man enough for larger amounts eg 200ml and do they also drip?

Any advice much appreciated

I have pump and the screw type, depends on the container as to which fits. Quick wipe with paper towel etc to stop any drips.

I use the pump ones on my 5L snowfoam containers without any issues though it would take a few pumps to get 200ml out

Depending on the thread you might be able to find a dispensing tap to fit similar to this one?

Thanks for that I may well get the pump version for my snowfoam & APC. I'll have to check what size thread for the tap.

Thanks for that although the issue isn't getting the stuff into my measuring jug its that it's difficult to control pouring and the chemical goes down the side of the container ...... and me !!! [emoji35]

I'll get a pump as suggested

This sounds counter-intuitive (not to mention stupid)....but when pouring from a large rectangular container (including oil cans, Jeyes Fluid et al)  you shouldn't tilt and pour with the hole at the bottom corner. Turn it through 180 degrees, tilt and pour with the hole at the top corner. Doing this ensures that air can enter as liquid comes out and you get a nice smooth flow....with no "glugging".

(Definitely a case of one picture worth a thousand words!)
