What are the steps to unplug the battery for 15 minutes?

 

Ignition off, does the key needs to be in ignition?

 

What about the radio code?

 

Will I loose some of the settings I have?

 

Anything important?

I did it recently when installing the navi retrofit for Bolero.

- opened everything I need open (door, hood, trunk if needed)

- verified that ignition is in off

- removed auxiliary plug on (-) electrode - a contact from start/stop system as far as I know

- removed (-) connector

- removed (+) connector

 

Work took me 1h or so. Reconnect - I did above points, but in opposite direction.

Afterwards the system showed errors on all self-learning components (abs, esp, etc) - a Christmas Tree on the dashboard so to say. Drive the car for few meters and it'll be ok.

Some report you need to teach the window closers their load/motor current set-points by holding the window switches 2s or so in each extreme position after window full movement; I did not observe that in my case.

Radio / infotainment was back online without any codes, just took few minutes.

Will vcds changes be preserved?

This I do not know (I'm not using it), but my bet is yes - it's just settings / program, and all that resides in non-volatile memory (such as vin, radio code, component config, etc).
