undertray?

Featured Replies

under my engine sump it looks like i have a plastic undertray missing, should there be one?

on a fabia? yes there is a large plastic undertray held on with torox screws. its a pain when your tinkerin with somethin and you drop a screw threw the engine. you have to take off the tray to retrieve the part!!

Adam has an Octavia vRS. But yes, it comes as standard with a plastic tray under the sump. It functions just to protect against splashes and perhaps enhance aerodynamic properties. Others have "upgraded" to metal versions which offer quite a good degree of mechanical protection.

Could do with one of them. Where can you get one and how much are they?

why is yours missin?

Yes. I'm sure the stealer didn't put it back on when they fitted a new front ARB, but that was a few months ago now and I can't prove it. Anyway I would prefer a proper sump guard.

See Jon's post here :D

Only thing to watch out for is that the parts are 1j0 (one jay zero) rather than 1j0 (one jay oh). From memory the parts came to around

Thanks for that.

Bit more expensive than I thought, I'll have to start saving.

Hi

We fitted this to a customers car not that long ago.

He wanted one as his 4X4

The part numbers had superceeded and the price had gone up I am afraid

Reading the thread that is linked to above, it seems the METAL TDi gaurd is different to the 1.8 version. Sadly I have bought one from a TDi - any idea if this is likely to fit my car? ANd if not, what are the differences liekly to be?

It has the TDi sound deadening bonded to it and came from a TDI Elegance estate (so I'm pretty sure its for a TDi ;) )

I can see I'm gonna end up under the car in the coming weeks.

I bought the parts from the thread I linked and they fitted (fit!) my 1.8T 4x4
