Rear knocking

Featured Replies

It's going it for a service soon, while in I'll see if it can be sorted as it's annoying!

Any ideas though?

The car has developed a light knocking heard at low speed, on smooth tarmac. I took out parcel shelf, tyre foam, etc etc still there. Sounds like coming from above rear off side wheel...  but I cant replicate it when car not moving so cant pin point.

There is all the various stuff mentioned in the several threads over the last 5 plus years,

door stops etc. But you have sussed that.

But check out the rear hand brake cable and movement in it, up and down movement, it is one thing that can cause a knocking noise.

Is there a rear ARB fitted, lowering springs etc.?

Just things to check out along with anything else.  Probably there as well when not on smooth roads, just you do not hear it.

Fold the rear seats down and then see what you pick up on,

or sit in the rear nearside, fold offside seat and have someone drive the car while you listen.

Yes to both ARB & springs. Happy to say :)

It'll be with MDMTECHNIK at the end of the month -  I'll get them to investigate.
