Amundsen+

Featured Replies

Evening,

I'm looking at buying on of these for my F/L Skoda Octavia 1.6 CR tdi Elegance estate as I like the idea of the satnav being integral along with the added Blutooth for connecting my IPhone to.

Few questions do I need a new piece of trim to fit this unit? If so how much are they? Is the sound any better than the standard Bolero unit in the car at the moment? How good is the satnav? And finally how good is the Bluetooth, as in how good is it to make and receive calls.

Look forward to any input and I have searched but it didn't help lol, thanks in advance Lee.

Find the thread on here as not all of them have DAB and BT. The thread highlights what you need to look for.

Version I'm hoping to buy has no DAB, il try another search thanks.

Satnav is excellent, always got me where I wanted to go.

And you are more than welcome to try the unit, make a call, stream some music.

How much do these go for nowadays? Bought a Bolero years ago but always considered an Amundsen+, there were just none ever available back in the day.

I got a DAB and bluetooth version from a friendly member on here a few months ago, for a shade over 300 of your english pounds.

And yes you will require a new surround if you're going from a Bolero. Not sure hoe much for a pre-FL like yours. For a FL it's £50-60 depending on the interior.

Yeah, think I'll stick with th Bolero then, only paid £150ish for it and it was unused, taken out from new cos the guy had the Kenwood Skoda unit fitted at the stealers.

What about the satnav antenna when changing from Bolero without satnav to e.g. Amundsen?

Does it use the original antenna or do you need to retofit a new one?

Just pop a GPS antenna up under the top of the dash.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ +1  plenty of room in there. Maybe a double-sided pad to stop it rattling around though. :)

I stuck mine in the A pillar, NS. Plenty of room for it.

I usually find they work better being flat but fair dos, as long as you don't have curtain airbags.
