Hello folks. My stationary car damaged today by apparently erratic reversing delivery vehicle. Witnessed by 2 people who provided REG number but not vehicle make. Truck or large van?. Any way to cross ref REG with make/type?. Speaking to insurer & police tmrw but will also visit location to see if offending vehicle turns up on same circuit/time. Photo of comparable damage would help. Hpi type check doesn't identify so I'm presuming commercial vehicles excluded from that register.Thanks for any help.

Kwik Fit have a tool on their website to enable you to find the correct tyre pressures for your vehicle from the VRM. Handily for you it also tells you what the vehicle is.

You could also use the Motor Insurers Database to check that the offending vehicle is insured.

you can go to the DVLA website and for £3 can request vehicle and registered keepers details, or pass the details to your insurance company and let them do all the running around

Thanks for the additional info folks. All done. Chasing around inevitable as trying to exclude my insurer (they know but not making a claim)

till other party admits liability. Legal dept only helps with securing losses like injuries etc; and I have none
