Post a picture of the unit please.

Just had a look at your scan. It seems you now have a DAB unit fitted (was it a DAB before?)

On a slightly different note, it appears you now have a genuine Skoda supplied and fitted Columbus unit with V13 maps installed, and the code number of the maps is 8348. Now where's that git who assured everyone that there was no such thing?

Edit: If you've done a scan previously with the old unit installed and have saved a log, you should be able to collect the long coding from that scan and apply it to the new unit to make it all work.

Unfortunately didn't scan it before. The new unit is exactly the same as the old one dab.the dvd player packed up on the old unit. Like I say it's working fine. But obviously not been coded to car. Will attach photo

Sounds to me Rusty that its a second hand unit they have stuck in Hence the dvd in motion..thats been "Updated"....by previous owner..

Have you tried clearing codes with VCDS and see if they return ?

I had a couple of those faults listed in my scan but once cleared never returned

What is your current mileage?

Well, it's not a major issue recoding it really. Just annoying they didn't do it.

You obviously have VCDS so that's half the job. And the long coding helper will tell you pretty much everything you need to change as long as you know what spec your car has got. Good thing now is you have a reference scan for the future and I doubt you can break anything in the radio/navigation coding section as long as you think about what you're changing first. No point trying to add in a multifunction steering wheel if yours clearly hasn't got one etc.

Was definitely a new unit had murders trying to get it sorted had to wait a week to get new unit sent out

Well, I wasn't going to say that as first thought was a cheap chinese copy of the Columbus. But having seen the scan and the picture, I reckon it's second hand

Also, the fact that the battery disconnection means the unit asks for a code would give me cause for concern...

He'll never be seen to mention it again.... Although I will post a link to this thread in the one he started asking for people with 8348 maps from a dealer...... Although he's not been on the forum since the end of March.
