Fighting with traction control since new alloys

Featured Replies

Hello octavia faithful, well here is my issue. I recently changed alloys to 19" skoda xtremes off the MK3 vrs.. So thought I wouldn't come across any issues but... When I go above 60-65mph and cornering I see to be fighting with the traction control. Never seemed to notice this happening with the 18" Neptune's. So do anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

New tires?

^^^ As above.

Obviously the wheels do not touch the road, the tyres do.

So what tyres were on the 18's and what are on the 19's & at what pressure.

The 18s had some cheap budget tyres on, the 19s came with some conti sports on front that have about 4mm tread and the rears came with tyres but one had an egg so replaced both tyres on the back. When I had the tyres put onto the alloys they pumped them up to 32psi

Are they New Contis that are on the back that match the used Contis on the front?

What size of tyres?

I know many recommend the new tyres to the rear but if you have TC issues that is with the drive wheels,

maybe best put the rear wheels/ tyres to the front.

Best set your own tyre pressures and reset the TPMS rather than trust someone else.

+1

I would double check there all the same size. It has been known for fitters to mix tyre size by mistake
