Featured Replies

Hello,

I am on my third yeti. My newest is 4 months old. In the last week i have noticed every time i use the brake, i hear a loud click, can also feel the click go through brake pedal. Is this normal? I have never noticed it before on new or previous yeti's.! Does anyone else notice this and is it normal? Advise would be much appreciated

Oooo i think i may have put this in wrong section....... Sorry

In the right section, so don't worry.

I suspect you are getting some pad movement in the carriers, which can happen and shouldn't be anything to worry about, but if the car is only 4 months old it might be worth mentioning it to your dealer.

Thankyou for reply. I will ring dealer tomorrow. As the saying goes.... Better to be safe than sorry

Mine does the same. Was in the dealership yesterday and they checked it. "Characteristic" apparently as two stock Yetis did the same as did an Octavia demonstrator.

Cheers

Rog

Mine does it as well going from braking in forwards then braking in reverse

You hear a loud click ? and the dealer says this is normal so why does your 4 month old yeti do this and neither of your other cars you have driven ??

I am going to say that as it happens going forwards and backwards that the disc pads are the wrong type and they are moving in the caliper, ie the back plate is too mall for the caliper qwe are only talking about a few miilimtres, years ago I bought the wrong disc pads for a car and the same happened when I changed the front pads, it did not happen with the old pads so I decided something was not right,

I double checked the item code and the pads where for a different model year, I changed the pads to the correct model year and no noise.operation as the old disc pads

Now I am just an average person with no idea about anything on a car !! so when you where at the dealer ( Sales or Srvice dept ?) and they said "Characteristic" apparently as two stock Yetis did the same as did an Octavia --my reply to that is BS

You can shoot me down in flames if you want but I  would not be happy with brake pads that did that after you owned other Yetis that did not do it.

Mine does not do it! so just because a dealership says its '''correct'' does not make it ''correct'' !!!

Believe me, I am not happy with it. The stripped, checked and reassembled the brakes and this made it worse. It in the hands of the dealership management now.

It's been common for decades and for me if they don't rattle over bumps I don't have that much of a problem with it.
