Piper 2.5" exhaust vs rear axle

Featured Replies

Anybody experienced any issues with the exhaust hitting the rear axle?

im quite low at the moment but will be raised up next week when i get different suspension but ive read about people having similar issues with milltek and other 2.5" off the shelf exhausts

whats the best option if raising the car doesnt cure it? powerflex exhuast mounts?

cheers

The piper is the best fit in my experience. Issues tend to arise when you haven't got the alignment quite right. Usually by moving the centre section forward it gives more room over the beam.

As above,it is a tight fit.

But just a slight twist on the joints can give you quite a lot more room.

Did you fit it with the car off the ground and the rear wheels hanging?

If you did this will be why you haven't got it aligned correctly, you need to do it on a 4 post drive on ramp or jack up your rear suspension whilst aligning exhaust.

As when you put the car back on its wheels the beam goes up quite a lot reducing your clearance to the exhaust :)

Thanks guys, will have a mess with it when the suspension is being changed

it was fitted on a ramp at a garage but took about 40 minutes to get the last downpipe nut off so the rest was kind of rushed but they'll check it over and sort it no problem
