What Are These Disconnected Pipes For?

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what these metal pipes should be for?

Just found them under my inlet manifold.

Thanks.

They normally have braided vacuum pipes attatched, which connect to the N249, & N112 valves under the manifold plate, but many people remove/ delete them as they are prone to splitting.

Cheers Paul. So it should be ok to leave them like this? Or should I reinstate them?

If the delete has been done properly, leave them off. If I were you I would blank the SAI too, then remove those hard pipes.

shouldn't the pipes be blocked off though? they are on mine....

Thanks guys. Next silly question, how do I check its been done correctly?

Depends if they've been disconnected at the other end. Quite a bit needs to come off the engine to remove them so maybe when previous owner did the delete but didnt worry about removing the hard lines.

Found the How-To for the N249 & N112 delete, i'll check my car today to see whats been done and how well but I do know the N249 & N112 valves have been removed altogether with the metal plate.

Previous owner didn't mention this had been done.

The N249 and N112 are on that plate that the oil dipstick is connected to. If both are unplugged / no pipes coming off them then the delete should have been done successfully. Saying that, you would get an error code if it wasn't done properly.

Well theres no EML on and the plate and valves are definately missing. I cant see the N75 anywhere either  :notme:  The plot thickens.
