Got this book from Skoda today!

I think it must be the work of the Marketing Department during a night of free beer at the Xmas party!

whats inside?

Well its a mini-novel about a sensible, caring Doctor (father of three) who seems to lead a double life by driving an Octy vRS estate and gets into scuba diving, microlighting, climbing and abseiling etc.

An extension of the TV advert "Practical yet Exciting" sort of theme.

Oh - and its got a few pics of the new vRS in the middle of the story.

So thats why it costs more than the old one.... its to pay for marketing!

I too signed up for vRS updates on the Skoda UK website, so that is probably why I received one. Have had two or three mailings through so far. Think the last one was a card in the shape of sunglasses! All wacky stuff!

Give Skoda UK a call if you want the book - or sign up on the web-site - hopefully they are still sending them out.

Smart send some weird stuff out. I had a booklet about them, on the front it had 'Want to know how well a Smart sticks to the road?', you open it up, via the velcro, it said inside 'well now you know'. I may still have that actually.

a load of cr4p:rolleyes:

are they really trying to sell the car to 4 year olds:rolleyes:

i get a bit of the skoda promotional stuff...and i always find it very funny :D

we have a marketing dept as work as well - there are similarities - they also waste loads of money coming up with cr4p campaigns that make no difference to sales

I'm interested in the new one , What i need is factual information not some pathetic little story book that that.I need to be told about the spec and where the new model is better than the old one .

If they have money to waste them maybe the cars price could be lowered or maybe they could supply some merchandise free with every vRS? If we all went round wearing a t shirt or even a " i'm proud to drive my vRS " jacket it would have far more impact that sending a purile little book like that to people that have already expressed an interest:thumbdwn:

There are plenty of skoda jokes still around.... this is ( IMHO) another one

People miss the point of these adverts they really do

I'd be glad of anything to be honest, signed up for updates but never received anything from Skoda.

Funny I own a skoda and they dont want to know, where as SWSBO doesn't even drive (yet) and they keep sending for details (for the fabia range) to arrange a test drive! Top work skoda uk!

ooooh careful making comments like that ........... or some sarcastic little tuuat will tell you to lighten up. It seems to to a common responce ... if you cannot add anything to a thread they have to use theat well worn phrase to lighten up.

.... surely if WALKIE dosn't like the thread it would make more sense to sodd off to another one rather than provoke by making sarcastic comments like that

HAPPY NEW YEAR:mad:
