Aftermarket Stereo Advice Please

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Just bought a new Sony CDX-S2250S stereo (OK I know this is pretty entry-level to some of you!) after buying a 1.4MPI X-reg yesterday and discovering the MS-202 stereo didn't work (is there a way to reset these - it just flashes a repeating tape play / radio message and nothing else?).

Anyway, after reading through this forum I've discovered I will need a blanking / fascia plate from my local dealer and also an aerial signal booster.

Can anyone recommend a good, cheap booster (need one quick so would have to be an high street store)?

Much appreciated!

I know my Fabia is an old and basic model (2000, classic) but it's like a dream after having a 1996 1.3LX Felicia. Surprising how attached you become to them though and it was a very reliable motor.

When I replaced the OEM radio cassette in SWMBO's fabia I took it to a local Car Stereo installer's and they sold me an aerial signal booster straight "off the shelf" for about

Thanks for that. Just about to go down to my local dealer anyway so I'll see what they say / have. Hopefully I can borrow their keys for removing the OEM unit as well.

Thanks for the extra info.

I found a good site which lists extra bits you might need with replacement stereos:

I'm not saying buy from there, but it gives a good idea of the parts / part nos so you can then look round for the best prices.

Cheers

The fascia is much cheaper from the main dealer.

The ISO lead is not really required either, I would imagine all it does is swap the live over which you can do yourself.
