Jacking Up At The Rear - Monte Estate

Featured Replies

Just gone to jack up the rear of my Monte estate and put it on axle stands, so I can take the wheels off to paint the rusty brake drums, and have come across a problem. I have the TT Jack Pads fitted, so I'm using a trolley jack on those, however I can't put an axle stand underneath the sill point (there's only a small part of the sill exposed for this purpose due to the Monte bodykit) as the jack is in the way as the jack pad is right next to the sill point. Is there anywhere else I can jack the rear of the car, or anywhere else I can put axle stands?

If I was in your position, I would make up some low level blocks of wood and place them below the rear spring platforms making sure that you spread the load enough to use the entire spring platform - instead of using axle stands.
