Who's got a Shark mapped 170PD without a DPF?

Featured Replies

How smokey are you?

I'm just about fed up with the juddering and jerking of too many regens :/

I have a pd170 mapped vrs however not done by shark, only a bit smokey on full throttle but for normal driving its barely noticeable :)

I have a DPF free VRS Estate, with a Shark Custom remap to go with my Hybrid Turbo.  Its very Very VERY smoky under hard acceleration.  Needs a wash weekly as Diesel Particulates gather on the boot.  If I was selling, I would have the map backed off so it smokes less.

I would have a chat with them as I suspect they can code a remap for you with an acceptable amount of smoke.  It may make less BHP & Tourque, but that's a trade off you may need to decide on.

Thanks but I guess yours could be worse as it's got a bigger turbo so probably pushed a bit harder than mine.

Shark will do a DPF delete with very little but mostly no visible smoke.

Go for a stage 0 map (no extra performance) and the map focuses purely on keeping things as close to factory standard as possible by simply mapping out the DPF sensors.

If you are tempted to go for stage 1, 2 or 3 maps etc. (more power) then you will without doubt get more smoke.
