Hi guys..I want to buy an obd scanner for my 07 octavia but not sure which i need...

Any specific type I need? Or is it better to buy a cable and use my laptop? If so what is a good free software to clear warning lights etc...if there even is a free one...

You need something that does CAN BUS if you want more than limited OBDII.

Free software that does the full monte - no chance.

VCDS is one option, but £200+

Carista app and a suitable dongle is a much cheaper option but not as good as VCDS.
