DAB addition

Featured Replies

After parting with Swift Sport after 6 months I now miss the DAB radio channels. My Lexus CT has the 13 speaker Mark Levinson system which has a AM/DAB button but there is no DAB fitted. Looking in the manual it states to consult your nearest Lexus dealer (haha yeah right) or a local stereo specialist. My question is this a simple addition to my stereo to fit eg:plug in module or something more complicated?

I'm a bit new to this type of thing and I'm clueless as what to do.

I'd ask your local Lexus/Toyota dealer what the deal is with the button. Is DAB definitely not fitted, or is there an issue with the system?

If DAB not fitted, what would they recommend.

If no Dice with the above, Pure do after market DAB solutions.

If you have a decent data package on your mobile, what about using that to get your stations and feeding it your car stereo either via Bluetooth or aux?

Thanks. It's definitely not got DAB because when I go into information on the flip up screen it's only showing AM and FM stations plus AUX,DVD,CD and Bluetooth. I was trying to avoid Lexus if possible but I think they'll be the first port of call.

Some reviewed on Auto Express recently. Worth checking there first.

Contacted Lexus dealer this afternoon. They do an accessory fit DAB receiver which costs a whopping £450!

I think I'll be looking along the lines of what Aspman has added [emoji4]

You'll be paying for the integration with the existing ICE I assume. Those separate DAB units are just that, and you wouldn't be able to use steering wheel controls for anything other than volume.

The dab motion is probably the simplest solution if you want to avoid complex wiring up to your existing radio as it goes through FM stations to connect up.

I've got a highways 300Di on my octy and can't fault it and it is wired via AUX input so fitting is a bit more fiddly but its got a nicer display on the controller.
