What does this button do?

Featured Replies

Hello, folks.I've checked out all the manuals I could find on the internet, but I can't find out what does this button do. The one next to it should be for switching stop'n'go on the models that have that option, but what is that one with "Set"  for?

Tyre pressures. Once they are at the correct pressure you set it and it can work out if you have a flat from the ABS.

Thanks for the express answer. It's a month old car, so the pressure should be fine to set it. Though, with the climate we have in Greece, you never know with the tires.

Do not risk your life and others to some tyre pressure set by someone you do not know.

Check the pressure the tyres are at, adjust to the correct pressure, then Re-set the TPMS.

No point just pressing the button if you have no idea if tyres are over inflated, under inflated  or they are all different around the 4 tyres.

Btw iirc if you do get a flat it will go off again after fixing +100 miles as a reminderto check the pressures.

Page 91 of the owners manual covers it. Ideally, these should be set when the tyre pressures have just been checked / corrected, cold and in shade so that all corners are at the same temperature.

The TPMS does not give a reminder after it has been activated, after 100 miles or any other distance.

If you have a puncture, put on a spare and reset then it may not give a warning,

then when you get your tyre replaced or repaired, set the pressures and re-set the TPMS, that is that.
