Weird Columbus Problem

Featured Replies

Been out all day using SatNav and listening to radio.

Dropped a mate off at home and went to change the radio station and I've got no sound.

The volume control on the Columbus and the wheel doesn't appear to be working for the radio.

When the radio is on either fm / am / dab / the volume is around a quarter but is just stuck their with no sound no matter what you press.

Sound works fine with Nav and all media.

I've reset to factory defaults but still the same.

Anyone come across this ?

Hold the power button down for ten seconds it does a full reboot

Thanks mate i'll give that a go next time instead of resetting the bugger !! GRRRR !! 15 Mins later it was OK.... Weird !

Just occasionally I get odd things 'dropping out' and misbehaving. Being a BMW owner as well I'm used to it and it seems that the cause can be that the modules fail to boot up correctly before the engine is started and this results in a voltage drop on the various data busses so the system 'loses' devices.

BMW's answer was to switch the ignition on, put my seatbelt on and by that time everything had run through its startup sequence and works so the engine could be started. This tactic also seems to work with the S3 as the problem now only ever seems to happen if I get in and start the engine straight away. If I 'pause' it doesn't.
