Columbus Sat Nav

Featured Replies

Afternoon all

Haven't used the sat nav on the Columbus for awhile and the wife used it to go to Heathrow this morning.. it found the route ok but as soon as he got to the end of the road it started going all over the place saying we were in the wrong place turn round etc just generally going all overthe place . Never had issue before I got her to do a software reset holding buttons and still made no difference can anyone help

Thanks

Press the "NAV" button on the right hand side, and then touch "Current position". Read how many satellites it can see and is tracking. It'll be a number something like 6/11 meaning it can see 11 satellites and is tracking 6 of them.

Mine putting me in the English Channel and currently says 0/12

So it's seeing 12 satellites and not locking on to any. Was it a factory fit Columbus or retrofitted? If a factory fit then the usual suspect is the GPS antenna on the roof is faulty. A cheap £6 replacement one from Ebay mounted inside the dash is the cheapest and easiest fix.

No wasn't factory fit I put it in few months ago... I've check all wiring and it's all good... only thing I have done now is more the antenna which I located behind the interior light and moved it further to the pass side... seems to be OK now went for drive 5/12

Yep, sounds like the antenna wasn't seeing satellites.
