Cigarette lighter socket

Featured Replies

Ok so I made a bit of a boob when I was giving the interior a clean as I accidentally used a wipe over the cigarette socket..... I normally have a usb adapted plugged in but I had taken it out.....suddenly the sub stopped working so I checked the fuse and yes it had gone!! So replaced the fuse but still nothing from the usb..... Tried it in her indoors car and it works no bother so I took apart the console around the handbrake a bit and checked the connection at bottom and all seems fine..... I had it in for a service the other day and stealers quoted £62 to fix it!!! Anyone any ideas ??? Is there another fuse somewhere? Or would two go ? Oh and I drive a Monte Carlo tdi

It was yup...... Checked engine bay all good there!

Actually changed one of these today on a MK2 Fabia, the socket itself was faulty it's a 5 minute job and part was £6 odd if I remember God knows how the dealer tried to charge that much. Fuse may not be blown so you have bulb/circuit tester to check if there is voltage at the fuse and socket.
