Basically an added module to the remap which immobilises the car (via ECU) through the Cruise control.

Fantastic bit of kit which means even if my keys are nicked, the car won't start.

Done by those nice people ar Awesome who were madly busy, short-staffed and I didn't even have an appointment! Full marks to Jim/Dan et al.

Huck, is it Thatcham approved and, if so, what Cat is it?

I don't know Denis, I don't recall seeing anything about it.

However, it will give me great peace of mind when I leave the car eg. on holiday. Unless they put it on the back of a lorry or they're Bosch ECU experts, my car should remain 'un-stolen'.

Nothing will stop the determined professional but it is so handy in the way it integrates with the remap that I thought it was worth it.

When I was looking into REVO/APR I can't remember seeing anyhting about the security lock-out being certified by Thatcham.

Bit of an interesting one this as some people don't want to tell their insurer about being remapped but do because of the security aspect.

The security lock-out is a good idea.

General rule of thumb...

To get a Thatcham rating (Cat 1 for Alarms, Cat 2 for immobilisers) the Control Unit needs to be in a tamper-proof armoured housing (usually resin-filled to prevent tinkering). Other conditions also apply.

As the APR & Revo lock-outs work via the standard ECU, i doubt very much if Thatcham would approve them

What about mechanical features such as mechanical gear****f lock? Whre can I get it, cause my skoda dealer never heard of a one, please help.
