VRS Xenon headlights different colours left and right?

Featured Replies

Hi, I've noticed that on my VRS the xenon headlight left and right have a different colour. One is more like warm yellow and the other is more like white/blue. Of course it could be less after all those years, but it could also mean a replacement in its previous life. Perhaps for an aftermarket thingy. I also noticed the after initial start they are more equal to each other. Any ideas?

One has probably been replaced. They do fade over time. Mine lasted 11.5 years before I replaced both for Osram ones bought from Ebay.

Yeah, I could ask my befriended VAG mechanic to take theme out. But he keeps telling me to not throw money at it. [emoji6] He replaced his xenon too (on a American car with bi-xenon). He told me some parts are extremely expensive and almost never replaced.

Are they genuine Osram original though Rob, or fakes? Genuine Osram bulbs are normally much more expensive than £38 a pair. The market is flooded with fake HID bulbs that are no where near as good as the genuine ones.

You will not go wrong with a pair of Morimoto D2S bulbs.

Have a look at the below review.

Got Morimoto bulbs in my MK2 very good. Light output is bright and far.

I think they're genuine. The packaging looked convincing and they work well.

I'm pretty sure that one unit has been replaced, and quite possibly with a unit that outputs a different light temperature.
