Did amundsen ever get the mirrorlink?

Featured Replies

Hey guys. Been searching but unable to come up with anything conclusive! There was talks of the mirrrorlink being added as an update to amundsen. I tried to get it to work on my my16 (March this year) but had no success.

Can anyone please shed some light on this??

Mirror link is an optional extra, I have it on mine and to be honest not sure it's worth the money at £150

is mirror link just the android version of carplay?

I have it in my vrs... i find it very useful. but I do use spotify a fair bit

You get both mirror link and CarPlay as part of the option. As you say Mirrorlink is Android, CarPlay is Apple

The option is smartlink as I understand it. Mirrorlink is a different kettle of fish as I understand it. It is mentioned in the update for the software and it comes as standard on other systems. Hence my confusion!

SmarkLink is an optional extra that can be added at any time to MIB2 systems (MY16, Octavias built from June 2015). It provides Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink.

I find Android Auto works very well. It gives me Google navigation at a fraction of the price of the built in satnav.

I use it every time I drive the car. Android auto gives me voice control for calls, text, WhatsApp, navigation music track selection (with a choice of Spotify, Amazon Prime or Google Play Music). Calendar events with a location and recent google place searches show up in the 'home screen' too.
