EGR valve replacement

Featured Replies

Hi, New to this and hope someone can give me some advise please.

Just got my 2010 octavia back from service and apparently I need the EGR replacing, they have quoted a massive figure to do this job, does 8 hrs labour to change and coolant seem excessive?

Thanks, hoping

They are horrible to do. Not sure 8 hours is justified, I think book time is half that.

Hi - my bill came in just shy of £1000 for an EGR replacement on a Yeti at an independant garage.  Skoda quoted roughtly £1300/£1400 to replace.  Sorry - but 8 hours is correct. (See my post about EGR valves in the Yeti forum for the full sorry saga!)

It's in a rather unaccessable place and Skoda has to remove DPF as well, do wheel alignment etc. 8 hours seems way too much but maybe it can be for 4x4.

Disable it. Will be better. There's a plenty of topics about that here on forum.
