Rear speaker

Featured Replies

As above. Gave the rear, underneath the seats a good clean out to get rid of the stack of biscuits that pooch has missed/ pushed down behind the rears and into /behind the rear carpet and came across what I'd say is a large ( at least 7") speaker, in the rear driver side, with what i'd take to be a space in the passengr side for another. Driver side one is wired, but trying out th radio biased toward the rears, there's no output. Car is a Comfort sped 1.4tdi . Could it be that speaker is wired to rear of radio ,and only needs plugging into the rear, or is more involved ?

Bump-anyone. Been meaning to get camera out. Suspect the answer to this one will only come from a techie, or someone with one of these pov spec models. Wiring deffo heads up the centre and underneath the centre consol, but with hip problem, I try to limit what I  take out, as it might have to wait to get put back .

Unless it's an estate, the only speakers I'm aware of for the hatch models are the p!ss-poor 3-4" ones either side of the parcel shelf.

I've had two Elegance estates and neither had speakers under the rear seats. Both had speakers either side of the boot cover below the rear quarter light windows and tweeters in the rear doors near the handles. I was not aware of the Fabia hatchback having any speakers under the seats?? Are you sure this isn't a modification by a previous owner?

Yeah they don't sound standard to me. Here's the standard ones...

Thanks for replies- that was my first thought, except that the car was on lease to in previous life and used as a courtesy vehicle, although from the low mileage, I wonder if it was used more as a personal vehicle for staff. It's a Comfort spec car, with two large speakers low down in front doors and a tweeter in each door higher up. There's no speakers or indeed any wiring into the rear doors, not even the tube for wiring. I've checked, as i was looking at fitting central locking. hence the request for some of our well informed techs to pass comment, please.

Will try and get some pics up. As said in first post- if what is under rear driver side seat is not a speaker, then what is it. And on the other side is a covered in space ,which looks like it could take another speaker.

Are you sure it's not the plastic cover for the fuel pump/gauge sender unit you're looking at?

Yeah I'm convinced that's what it is you're describing.

MK1 Fabia won't have speakers in the rear doors. All cars have speakers either side of the parcel shelf if fitted. If not fitted no wiring is installed from factory.

I've got some Rockford Fosgates in the standard location on mine.

That's what I thought looked just like a speaker. But wiring on mine heads straight up the centre ,and under the centre console. never seen a fuel gauge set up like that in any of the other cars i've had in all my years of driving. Thanks folks.

So much for that idea. Problem sorted.
