Removing the battery for recharging

Featured Replies

I need to recharge my Fabia vRS battery, but I can't remove it from its casing. (There is no socket in my garage) I have disconnected the connectors from the terminals but it won't budge. Is there some lever or nut somewhere?

Thanks for the advice.

13mm bolt down the bottom at the front.

I gave up when I had problems and just called the AA as I couldnt get to the bolt with my limited tool set.

I've now learnt not to leave my car in the garage for weeks on end without taking it out for a run. :) Once a week to Safeway and a couple of times around the block seems to do the trick.

a RUN round the block will do more damage than good ......... all that will do is fill

your silencers with water from the condensation coming from a luke warm engine

this will rot your silencers from inside and it will probably not put back in the battery

that what you have used by starting....best option is a 10 - 15 mile blast up the motorway

this will get the exhaust nice and hot and dry out the condensation and put some

recharge back in the battery ......

I have a problem with mine ......... 2 miles in traffic to work and 2 miles in traffic home

so I do a fastish weekend run of about 20 miles ... might have to take the works van

home soon ...... so that will reduce my weekday mileage to nil .......... so will have to

make sure I do some decent mileage at the weekend

Yes, apologies, I shoud have said a 5 or 6 mile around the block... not literally around the corner and back. I have a nice little local run I can do and sometimes go aorund twice just to get it charged up and running nicely. Although this is only on rare occasions where work stops me going away for the weekend or taking it out for a proper run. Last year I had to get the AA out twice to start me due to leaving it garaged for too long.
