New Skoda driver Octavia 2 TDi

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm Dennis, living in Bangor Northern Ireland.

New Skoda driver, just bought the car this week, so I'm the proud owner of a 2005 Skoda Octavia 2 TDi 1.9 with BJB engine, and 130.000 miles.

Yesterday I found a VRS interior, that is, front seats and rear seat.

The front seats was the easy part, but now the rear seat, this is obviously some kind of a chalenge.

Hi dennis, welcome along.

if the rear seats are the same as mk1, its a bit fiddly, but not impossible. Centre seat belt is what you need to be careful with as its interlocked with the seat clamp thing. So it locks too short to get the bolt back on which is iirc reverse threaded.

Also - brisky NI meet happening in July, theres a thread in the meets section if you fancy it :)

Welcome Denis,

Treat her well, give her regular nice oil changes and she will love you longtime. Had same engine for 9 yrs no issues, make sure you get a new cambelt on her or check the one on it has a good few miles left. Apart from that happy motoring.

Thank you all, btw, I found out about the rear seat, its very ease to replace, but indeed, the centre belt was some challenge, but its done.

Btw, it is "normal" a thread, so not reverse threaded.

As soon as I know how to put some pictures here, I will show off, lol.

The VRS interior is absolutely lovely, great seats, certainly compared to the standard seats.

The belt and oil will be done asap, also looking for a couple of nice 16" wheels, I understand it is 5 x 112, as some sites give me the wrong idea, 5 x 100.

ET should be between 35 and 38 if I'm not mistaken.

Btw, I am a Dutchman, 58, but living in Northern Ireland now near enough 5 years, wonderful country, terrific people.

The car, I am very happy with and do intend to drive it for a couple of years.

So I just found out how to, the pictures I mean, lol.

I also have the steering wheel from the VRS, but need to find the airbag for this.

As soon as thats found, I will also have that in.

Nicely done.

I couldve sworn it was a reverse thread... though its a while since i popped mine out, may be remembering back to my previous cordoba - that nearly broke me as i didnt know for quite a while it was reveresed..
