Yes. If you are gong to USE CarPlay.

On the phone;

Go to settings->general-> restrections. Turn them off. Go to settings->general-> Siri. Activate Siri properly.

Then Apple CarPlay should be OK.

Do not know if my English terms are correct.

Update. This is mib2

Sorry. My bad. :)

Can I ask a stupid question. Why aren't you playing music via Bluetooth? This will be your easiest solution. USB to charge. Bluetooth to play music.

Are you using an Apple USB cable?  When I first got my Scout with MIB II, my iPhone 4 would charge, but no connectivity.  Using the original Apple USB cable solved the problem.

Is this Columbus?

I don't think admundsen or bolero on mib1 worked over USB - had to get mdi.

Yeah on MIB1 you have to have the Mitsumi MDI connector to enable playing via cable.

I just use USB to charge and stream via Bluetooth as suggested above - works well.

I wouldn't worry about mdi. I paid the £100 for it and it's a waste of time
