Xenon headlights tourist mode

Featured Replies

Hello.....

I'm driving to France in my 2011 Octavia. It's got xenon headlamps, does anyone know the measured value block number/adaptation/coding number adjust my headlamps into "tourist mode". I've looked through 55: headlamps but not found the channel number I need to adjust for European driving. Car does not have maxidot. I've read that you got to do it with diagnostics. But also read you can take headlamps out and do it manually.

Thanks in advance for information.

Not the right method for a FL with factory xenons I'm afraid. It needs to be done using VCDS as there is no shutter to move, instead the lights move down and to the right slightly.

Rosstech suggest it's channel 002 is it helps: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Headlight_Aim_Control_(Xenon_with_AFS)

If it doesn't work, I'll check my car for you :)

I just fitted the beam benders last year, couldn't be bothered with hassle with the pre fl xenons. I'll be doing the same again when we drive to France at the start of next month.

Beam benders will be almost useless on the fl as the lights move around so much for AFS and correcting the height during acceleration/braking.

The only solution is to set travel mode via maxidot or VCDS. This disables AFS as well as adjusting the lights.

Beam benders might work OK for a pre-fl as there is no AFS but depending how much they change in height you may still cause glare for oncoming drivers.
