SMS - Galaxy s7 - message

Featured Replies

Just bought a Galaxy S7. 2012 Superb is not supposed to get SMS texts(?) but it does. Previous iphone 4S didn't seem to do so at least it never showed any.

But every time I switch the ignition on I get a message telling me that "It look sas though you've swapped your SIM ... you'll need to update your settings" - has anyone else got this or can advise how to stop it as I now have many such texts.

Pleased that it connected through BT very easily.

If your car has the higher level bluetooth module, it'll support RSAP (remote sim access protocol) which essentially removes the SIM from the phone and connects it to the GSM tranceiver in the car. It depends on the phone supporting it too.

It requires you to register the SIM with the car - I'm guessing you haven't which is why you're getting that message each time.

Also, any text messages or phonecalls you get while the SIM is connected to the car remain on the car - they don't get synced back to the phone upon disconnection. Supposedly you can copy them back one-by-one but life's too short IMO.

You can switch to standard bluetooth mode to avoid all of this. Unless you're regularly driving in an area with poor phone coverage, using RSAP doesn't really offer very much over standard hands-free connection.
