Skoda discussion

Featured Replies

Not much Skoda discussion lately. Was wondering about a couple of things.

1.Is it ever worth buying any Skoda new?

2.Do Fabias (all of them) hold their value as well as all the car journos say? And the other models for that matter.

3.Is Skoda now a cult car or just the vRS badge a cult thing?

1. Nope

2. Nope

3. Nope (well at a guess anyway ;))

Chris

1. nope, same applies to all new cars, in my opinion

2. Seem to hold their value OK - I think its 50% after 3 years

3. They're "popular" - I see loads and loads now, but cult? Nope. :)

1. Nope

2. Nope

Ok.Discussion over:D

Next!

1. The answer to is it worth buying a Skoda New is YES. Discounts on Demos are not good (as I now know). Also see 2.

2. Fabias keep their value more than most. If you think Skodas (Particularly Fabias)depreciate too much - buy an Alfa new and then you'll rease how good they are

3. Skoda are mainstream now - the rear engine cars weren't. VRS maybe a slight fad (in the way XR3, GTi, ST:mad: is/are).

Also VW group limit the cars coming in to the UK - this means no over supply - residuals remain higher. Fiat/Ford etc don't do this = residuals are low (look how many cheap nearly new Puntos are on the market - ask yourself why?)
