I want to get my aircon cleaned out to remove suspected bacteria fro the system. Last time I asked my main dealer t do this, all they did was set off one of those aerosols in the interior. But what I want is for the system to be disinfected with the water-based solution (this is actually the official Skoda advice).

Anyone recommend where I should get this done? Should I look for an independent specialist or try someone like Kwik Fit?

Wanted to get an ozone clean as I've read that's the only way to get the foot smell gone, but don't think anyone in the UK does it. Haven't heard of a water solution but the carbomb aerosols are next to useless: just mask the smell for a short period.

I took it to a local dealer. Young lady at service desk claims every air con service includes disinfecting the system (after initially looking puzzled and claiming she's never had anyone complain about smelly air con before). But when I got the invoice detailing what was carried out in the service, there was no mention of cleaning the system.

Is the Octavia particularly bad for it? Mine smells too.
