Spoken to the guy I use to remap cars about remapping my octy mk3 1.6 tdi 105bhp, he says safe 140, 145 would be iffy and 150 can cause premature clutch failure.

So what is the safe limit for the car Engine and ancillaries etc? I'd like 150 but given that it'll be doing circa 50k a year I don't want premature clutch failure!

Well I'm running 200bhp on the standard clutch and have been for 12months with no issues, so I wouldn't worry

Interesting, I guess it's just the usual it comes down to how you drive it as to how long the clutch will last.
