Right...

Stupid question but I don't know the answer and can't find it online anywhere...

If I plug a headset into my controller does the game sound come through as well as the chat?

I haven't got a headset to try and before I spend money on a half decent one I'd like to know it I can hear all the game sounds through it!!

Cheers,

Simon

Get a PS Gold headset, use the supplied aux cable to your controller and you're sorted. You can hear game and voice chat. If you need any help setting up give me a shout, I used this on my PS4 before switching to Xbox

or if you prefer a fully wireless headset the turtle beach stealth 500x are fantastic

It's not a stupid question, I have the official Microsoft stereo headset which uses the Microsoft headset adapter and then the headset itself so I think it should be the same as any other headset - you can have all chat and all game audio through the headset or you can choose to have the chat only through the headset and the game audio through the TV.
