In the market for Octavia VRS

I am looking to buy a Mk 2 Octavia VRS 2.0 TDi.

I have seen a couple and wondered if I could ask for people's opinions on here.

First one i've seen has DSG gearbox, 75K, full skoda service history, full leather interior but the outside is a bit rough in places - the odd scuff and dent here and there and all 4 wheels need refurbing.  Price reflects this and so would put the difference towards getting everything put right, Is there anything that I should be wary of when looking at this age/mileage of car?  What are the DPF issues? And what about the DSG at this age? When are DSG's prone to start failing?

The other one ive seen is same age, higher mileage, lower spec, but is in much better condition.  This one is manual.

Is it worth considering the DSG on a 5/6 year old Vrs? Or should I only really consider a manual?

P.S. - I was a previous member here in 2006 when I had a fabia vrs - infact, i arranged a group buy of AMD remap units, if anyone was here then.
