CV Joint - easy DIY change?

On full lock it clonks slightly louder than the thump you get from a big cat's eye at speed.

It is only very loud if a roundabout has a bumpy surface or you run up partly onto one of those raised mini roundabouts.

Occasionally does it during the gear change process (once on power off, once with power on)

It'll probably go on for ages, but better done sooner rather than later.

How many miles has your car done?

Ahhh..... now you mention it, the MOT tester did note that the CV boot on the inside end of the longest drive shaft had come a little loose. Could it be related?

Yes, would have let all sorts of rubbish is, split CV boot normal mean MOT failure. Should have been replaced then.

:finger: Speaking as the tester who mot`d Phil`s car, the inner boot was slightly loose...not an mot failure...any how you cannot fail the inboard boot for being split only the outer:P

Rant over........Phil if you get stuck give us a shout........i love watching DIY mechanics:rofl:
