Picked up a 2010 VRS today. Dsg, TDI, CR. Under harsh acceleration in higher gears (4th or above) car goes into limp mode and coil light flashes. Restarting car clears the fault - but it immediately returns under the same conditions.

Amy common causes? Does anyone around Manchester have the means to read the error code?

1. Turbo / turbo actuator.

2. EGR valve (Exhaust Gas Recirculation).

I've contacted a member on here who has agreed to read the fault codes on Wednesday night.

 

In the mean time, my reserch has continued and ive looked into the problems with the actuator.  I attached a pipe to the inlet nipple and it appears to be holding pressure, so i dont think the diapragm has gone in there. 

 

I know the turbo vanes might be problem to consider.

 

The EGR vavle is apparently very difficult to get to - so hoping its not that.

 

Any other common causes, such as specific sensors etc?

Try Forte turbo cleaner......worked for me
