PD Fuel Lines Question

Featured Replies

A have I got this right question?

I am thinking that the fuel hoses and pipes between the fuel filter and the tandem pump are always under vacuum as even though there is an uplift pump in the tank which is supplying diesel to filter at low pressure the tandem pump will be creating a vacuum to draw the diesel from the filter.

Can anyone confirm if I have got this right?

Reason being the hoses are clearly not leaking out diesel but I am still wondering if they could be drawing in air, which just might explain poor running I am experiencing.

Thanks

no I belive the tandem pump creates very little suction and needs "feeding"      p.s.   there is a strainer in the T pump but it's main job is to seperate out air
