Revs increase on idle

Featured Replies

Hello there folks,

So started to have an issue with my mk2 vrs Octavia.

On idle the revs will increase to around 2k the back down. When engine temp is fairly warm it will do this but odd time won't.

Again most of time when cold won't do it but odd time after 5 mins driving it will do it.

Now after reading countless threads first idea was the pcv valve. However I read a way to test the valve is to remove the dipstick when the engine is running and if no difference occurred then pcv at fault but mine when did this it started to run lumpy

So kinda stumped me any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Chris.

Petrol or Diesel?

PCV is very simple to remove and check.  You're looking for splits or holes in the rubber diaphragm.

Hi Chris,

Have you been able to find out what the problem was?

My mk2 vRS does exactly what you describe.

Thanks a lot!
