Auto Dimming rear view mirror

Featured Replies

Just got back from a test drive in the new vrs. I have to say I loved it, but the one disappointment is that it was missing this item. I asked the dealer if it was available as an option and his reply was no. I had a look of some pictures of the vrs and realised in all of them it had the auto dimming mirror, so what I want to know is can I or can I not get it?

not on uk spec, possibly an option in other countries..... bet you could order one and wire it to the interior light its simple enough thing to do.

Thats another bad point then. Why are they taking all the good useful bits out the car?

Seams skoda UK havnt grasped onto the concept of selling decent specs....

anywhere else you can have all round electric windows in a fabia, noticed otherday edition 100 has all round leccys, so its really not a technical issue as old ones had it and other countries still can... just uk dont spec them.

oviously uk spec new octy vRS doesnt have rear leccys as standard but other countries do... once again down to skoda uk.

and as you have brought up... dimming rear view... its an all round part will fit any car and is proberbally available in other countries as an option or as standard.

It's just SUK trying to keep the already overly high price down by not specing it... although as an option would be good.

This is the thing that annoys me about the Vrs. I can add just about everything thats on my Superb Comfort, except the auto wipers and autodip mirror.

I don't understand why it's not an option, when cruise is?

Other slightly annoying is appears you can't upgrade to Audience 12 speaker setup. (or at least add a Subwooofer option;) )

Test drive next week so will be make or break time.

Has anyone thought that the Octy vRS is missing such things as the rear electric windows and such to save weight and cost?

The vRS is the sporty one not the luxury one, in ten years time we'll be seeing octy 2 vRSs as track cars with everything people are speccing as extras now stripped out :)

It seems to me that everyone wants an L&K with the 2.0T engine.

See my post "Are Skoda Doing it Right" My point exactly about the L&K with 2.0T

The prophecy is coming true at last (kind of). I told you this would happen back in August Newsflash!

So do Skoda not actually need the vRS? Just a Turbo L&K?

So do Skoda not actually need the vRS? Just a Turbo L&K?

Both... what they currently offer for people who want a really good fairly cheap fast hot hatch. But they also need the Fastest L&K as well imho caters for both markets then.

Anyone considered doing grey import to get the spec they want?

This is the British car industry mentality, sport versions are just that if one wants comfort then go for the normal models.

Just think back as to how long it took to put power steering, electric windows and Auto gearboxes into mini and super mini cars. I was in the industry back then and when I constantly pointed out that a greater part of our market for those vehicles were the elderly and women who found those extra specs ideal was looked at in blank amazement.

The industry is very slow to react to its potential market or for that matter just who their market actually is.
