Today I was driving about 70 mph and my engine warning light started flashing. I slowed down and it then went off about 20 mph. After turning the car off and on, I drove and as I got to 60/65mph the light came back on and the car didn't want to go any faster. Anyone ever had this issue or could point me in the right direction.

History on oil usage been done?

Have you checked oil levels?

Have you checked coolant level?

One plug might be failing.

It sounds like you are in Limp Mode and 2 cylinders maybe shut down.

So you need the Spark Plugs checked, all 4,  you really should not drive it.

 

Fault Codes might show, maybe misfires maybe not.

how old are the spark plugs? if they have done 20,000 miles you need new ones, I have had this on my car and I get them changed every service

 

actually I had the same symptoms last week but after turning the engine off and on again it was fine and as its going in for a service tomorrow i didn't bother doing anything about it. new plugs going in tomorrow!
