MOOOOOOOOOOOOOING Brakes

Featured Replies

Got a phone call from the lovely Kelly at Skoda customer services yesterday letting me know that they are testing another fix for the noisy brakes.

She reckoned that they should have something definite roundabout the end of the month.

Top marks for keeping the customer informed.

They got back to me about this a few weeks ago- apparently they're busy formulating a new brake pad compound for the Octy. Although the prob sounds the same as the Fabia brakes, it's different, so Skoda won't pay for the Fabia fix (brake damper kit) on an Octy.

Mine's going in Monday for this (amongst other things!). I'll keep you posted on what they do.

I got the brake damper (non)fix done to mine under warranty.

Worked a bit.

That's good that they actually did something to try and ease the prob. My garage and Skoda UK told me that they couldn't fit it under waranty because it's for the Fabia :-( Maybe I'll take it to yet another garage if they can't sort it tomorrow...

Is this problem the same one I seem to be having where if Im reversing (especially on a gradient) it makes this loud 'moooo' sound when you brake?

It was Skoda who told my stealer what to order and to contact me to book the car in.

Yeah Mil, this is the infamous Skoda mooing brakes - welcome to the club!!!

i was told to live with it as it couldnt be cured. Which i thought was really helpful

Garage sorted out my surging, which is great! Couldn't sort the brakes though, but said they would do once a cure is devised.
