How do I check mileage in VCDS

Featured Replies

So I'm curious to check the mileage on my new Fabia, I've checked my SE, my 2008 1.9 mk2 and mk5 golf, all no problem!

Tried to check my 2012 Fabia by going on the ECD15-16 mileage option but comes up with "VCDS was not able to retrieve the mileage. The Ecu is either not supported or does not store mileage"

Any other way to read it?

Instruments module? 17 is it?

Doesn't show mileage anywhere on it sadly.

Do an auto scan.

Yep, showed up the mileage but is that the proper check or just what the clocks say?

Actually can't remember now.

The milage Checker is for k-line/can-bus edc15/16. The Simos pcr 1.6cr uses can-bus/uds protocol and isn't supported as far as I'm aware.

That seems to be the answer I wanted.

Dies that also mean they can't easily be clocked then?

Sadly correcting the milage on vw group cars is big business as it's so easy. VDO dash panels as fitted to the fabia can usually be flashed via the obd port in less than 10 minutes.

That's a shame, it's so easy to clock cars but almost impossible to check the actual mileage!

Never mind, I'm happy with the results I've got and glad I got to check all my other cars anyway.

From Cazana you can see the MOT history with mileages.
